Train Vs. Tractor Trailer

Early evening Branchburg Rescue Squad along with North Branch Fire and Branchburg PD we dispatched to reported Train vs. Tractor Trailer. It was reported the truck driver was out of the vehicle Chief Hickson from North Branch Fire arrived and confirmed incident, started HazMat and, and began directing incoming units. Chief Hoffman arrived to confirm the driver of the truck had self extricated prior to collision and was giving reports to police. County dispatch advised Chief Hoffman of call from training reporting injuries to staff on the train. Chief Hoffman and Deputy Hondo began walk down tracks to survey the train and the injuries. Chief Hoffman arrived and triaged 4 pts all BLS transport. Car 745 and person power was used to get the patients back to the train station and loaded for transport. Units were cleared by Somerset County HazMat shortly after transports were completed.

The rescue squad supplied 3 BLS units, 1 First Response, 1 Heavy Rescue, and Chief POV. All staffed volunteer.
