Last night, members of the Branchburg Rescue Squad were requested to standby at our station to provide mutual aid support to surrounding towns as their emergency service volunteers operated at Bound Brook’s massive structure fire. We are happy that all first responders at the fire remained safe through the overnight and returned home to their families early this morning.
Friday night, Branchburg Rescue was requested for our Rehab Services into Readington Township for a fully involved Barn Fire. Special Ops 1, BLS 4 and BLS 5 responded with crews to the scene and set up for Rehab. Multiple fire companies were on scene from Hunterdon and Somerset County. Great job to everyone on scene during such a cold winter night.
Earlier this morning, Branchburg Rescue Services, along with Neshanic Volunteer Fire Company and Readington Volunteer Fire Company, were dispatched to Black Point Road, for a reported motor vehicle stuck in the water. The patient was safely moved to dry land by Marine 1 and Branchburg Rescue Technicians. BLS 4, Special Ops 1, Marine 3 and FR1 were also on scene. Please don't try to drive down flooded roadways.
Early evening calls bring two BLS units to local hospital.... Two calls at the same time staffed by our volunteers arrived at the hospital together from two of different locations. Along with us were two paramedic units! Great work by all!! Not often do we see multiple ambulances of our own at the same location! A quick photo just before we became clear and available.

At approximately 13:13 today, the Branchburg Rescue Squad was dispatched to Route 202 North and Holland Brook Road for a 2 car accident with injuries. 74 BLS 4, Car 1 and Rescue 1 all responded to the call. 1 patient was transported to a nearby local hospital for treatment while Car 1 and Rescue 1 stood by on scene to provide blockage while tow trucks removed both vehicles. All units were clear by 13:55.
Approx 2045 Branchburg Rescuers along with Readington Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched to Route 202 and Whiton Road for reported MVC with injury and fire. Chief Hoffman arrived to confirmed no entrapment and multiple people to be checked. 2 BLS responded. 1 patient transport and 1 RMA obtained others denied injury. Crews cleared approx 2200 hrs.
Last evening approx 1810 hrs the Branchburg Rescuers and Readington Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched for a MVA reported on vehicle smoking. Passing by Manville Rescue chief stopped to assist and updated responders. Update reported 1 injury entrapped in vehicle. At Approx. 2330 hours, Branchburg Rescue and North Branch Fire was Dispatched to Rt 22 and Readington Road for report MVA with wires down. Branchburg PD arrived confirmed highway closed due to wires down, and confirmed heavy entrapment. BLS and Heavy Rescue crew responded immediately followed by second BLS unit. Approx 1645hrs the Branchburg Rescue Squad just clearing a second call with North Branch and Readington Fire were doing paperwork back at station when overheard on the radio Tower Ladder 32 reporting large column of black smoke coming from the Neshanic area of town. Chief M. Hoffman with 74 Car 1 immediately responded, while enroute on Route 202 requested dispatch Station 74 for full response for working fire at Keystone Switching Station unknown on of any injuries....
