Branchburg Rescue was alerted this morning along with North Branch Fire & Branchburg Police to the reported deck fire to the rear of a residence off Miller Ave in the Township. First arriving units reported heavy smoke and fire from the rear of the structure, with all occupants out of the home. First arriving BLS was assigned to take care of the family, still in just their bed clothing. Upon arrival of Chief 745, EMS branch was established and reported into the IC, 49-10. A full recall of all units was completed, bringing 3 BLS, 1 Rescue and 1 Support unit to the scene, and a full REHAB Unit was established across from the fire. Due to the 3rd alarm assignment, additional units were requested from Whitehouse Rescue (1BLS) and the Hillsborough/Somerville Rehab Strike Team. In addition, Bradley Gardens Rescue was moved to our station as a "cover assignment" since all our units were operating.
Units cleared up 4 hours later after the fire was finally fully under control. No injuries were reported, and the Branchburg Police & Fire Officials office are handling the investigation.
